Scope
Altenia has built two high-efficiency photovoltaic plants equipped with tracker systems for a major independent photovoltaic power producer active in Europe, Central and Latin America. The two plants, respectively of 6.15 MWp and 7.9 MWp, are equipped with tracker systems that guarantee the maximization of energy production by automatically adjusting the inclination of the solar panels.
Activity
As part of a full EPC contract, Altenia designed and built the entire plant starting from green field, then defining all aspects of civil, electrical and mechanical engineering, the purchase of all the necessary components as well as their assembly, configuration and final tests. Altenia also designed and carried out the connection works to the distributor’s network, starting from the delivery cabin up to the primary reference substation and passing through the construction of the cable ducts along the entire route envisaged in the project (on public and private land).
The activities concerned:
- Engineering: electrical, civil and mechanical design with production of all the required documents.
- Site preparation: preliminary green field works (surveys, levelling, reclamation, staking).
- Civil works: internal and access roads, pitches for cabins and inverters, drainage channels.
- Electrical and TLC works: AC/DC wiring, string panels, electrical and TLC substations, CCTV/SCADA systems and integrated communication network.
- Electro-mechanical works: installation of single-axis trackers, control systems, lighting, fencing and access.
- Connection to the grid: MV systems in the delivery cabin, wiring to the primary substation, excavations and laying of cable ducts.
- Testing & Commissioning: testing according to industry regulations and customer guidelines.
Results
The full EPC activity has allowed Altenia to coordinate and integrate all phases of the project in a synergistic way, from engineering to hot testing, guaranteeing the customer a single point of reference for every need and maximizing the returns from the sale of energy.
