Ciminna agrivoltaic project reaches new milestones

Major electrical infrastructure milestones completed for the 67.42 MWp plant in the Province of Palermo.

Construction activities are progressing according to schedule at the Ciminna agrivoltaic plant, a 67.42 MWp project located in the Province of Palermo and spanning more than 150 hectares. The project is divided into 11 sections, combining fixed structures and tracker systems to optimize energy production.

In recent weeks, several key milestones have been achieved. The installation of the plant’s 29 electrical substations has been completed, along with the construction of the medium-voltage cable network, which extends for 11.8 kilometers and involved the installation and termination of more than 110,000 meters of cable.

At the same time, civil, electromechanical, and plant installation activities continue across the various sections of the site. Electromechanical and installation works are progressing throughout the entire facility, while civil works remain fully aligned with the project schedule.

Once completed, the plant will include more than 112,000 photovoltaic modules and involve the work of over 200 professionals, making it one of the most significant agrivoltaic projects currently under development in Italy.

Through this project, Altenia is making a tangible contribution to the growth of agrivoltaics and renewable energy generation in Italy, supporting the country’s energy transition goals while promoting sustainable development and innovation in the energy sector.
