The acquisition of 100% of ESS from BayWa r.e. Italia has been completed, strengthening Altenia’s capabilities in electrical infrastructure and expanding its presence across Central and Southern Italy.
Altenia has completed the acquisition of 100% of Energy System Services (ESS), a company previously owned by BayWa r.e. Italia and specialized in the construction of high- and medium-voltage electrical infrastructure as well as services for photovoltaic plants. The transaction follows the share purchase agreement signed on March 5, 2026, and marks another important step in the company’s growth and consolidation strategy.
Headquartered in Foggia and employing around 30 highly skilled professionals, ESS brings to Altenia extensive expertise in the design and construction of HV and MV substations, the installation and maintenance of photovoltaic plants, and the execution of related civil and electrical works.
The integration of ESS expands Altenia’s operational capabilities and strengthens its footprint in Central and Southern Italy, enabling the company to respond even more effectively to the growing demand for energy infrastructure supporting the country’s energy transition.
By combining the complementary expertise and field experience of both organizations, Altenia will be able to offer customers an even broader and more integrated portfolio of services, further consolidating its role as a trusted partner for the development and management of electrical infrastructure and renewable energy assets.
ESS’s entry into Altenia also contributes to the strengthening of Terna Energy Solutions‘ industrial platform, supporting the Group’s growth strategy and expanding its capabilities across the energy and infrastructure sectors.
