Thanks to the implementation of a Fast Installation Connection Station (SCRI), the plant’s commissioning was brought forward by approximately one year.
Altenia has successfully completed the grid connection works for a 28.08 MWp photovoltaic plant located in Licodia Eubea, in the province of Catania, contributing to the delivery of additional renewable energy to the Italian power system.
The project involved the construction of a complete grid connection infrastructure, including an electrical substation, underground cable systems, and all associated facilities required to integrate the plant into the network.
One of the most demanding aspects of the project was the connection strategy. To accelerate the plant’s commissioning and make the generated energy available sooner, Altenia developed a temporary solution based on a SCRI (Fast Installation Connection Station). This approach enabled the plant to be connected to the grid approximately one year ahead of the completion of the permanent connection infrastructure.
At the same time, work continued on the final configuration, including the electrical substation, cable connection, power transformer, and related connection assets. Today, the project is fully operational and stands as a tangible example of Altenia’s ability to successfully deliver complex technical and construction challenges.
